Swisscanto Holding AG is part of the Zürcher Kantonalbank Group. Swisscanto Fund Management Ltd., Swisscanto Vorsorge AG and Swisscanto Asset Management International SA are wholly owned subsidiaries. history
Swisscanto Holding was founded in 1993 as the holding company for all jointly managed asset management and pension business of the cantonal banks. Its roots are therefore in the joint ventures that were already active in these areas, above all in the Swisscanto Investment Foundation established in 1973 with headquarters in Zurich and the Swisscanto collective foundation established in the same year with the insurance company Helvetia and based in Basel .

Swisscanto Vorsorge AG was founded in 1983 with the participation of all cantonal banks for the development and sale of pension products and services in the area of occupational pension schemes . With the establishment of Swisscanto Holding in 1993, the cantonal banks brought most of their fund and asset management business into the financial holding, which from then on served as the fund management company. Since 2005, all joint ventures of the cantonal banks united under the umbrella of Swisscanto Holding have been operating under the common umbrella brand Swisscanto .
On December 10, 2014, the cantonal banks decided to transfer the Swisscanto Group retrospectively to July 1, 2014 into Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB). All shares are to be sold to Zürcher Kantonalbank.
