Therese Schläpfer (born April 14, 1959 in Ormalingen ; legal resident in Wald AR ; Ormalingen BL and Buus BL ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Therese Schläpfer was a local councilor in Hagenbuch ZH from 2010 to 2014 , responsible for health and social affairs and a member of various commissions . Since 2014 she has been the mayor of Hagenbuch ZH with the finance department. In the 2015 National Council elections , she won eight places on the list, making her second substitute. In May 2019 she succeeded Jürg Stahl in the Swiss National Council and was sworn in on June 3, 2019. She is considered to be the very first national councilor from the Eulach Valley. She rejected the election to the Zurich Cantonal Council - just three days before the announcement that she was moving up to the National Council - whereupon Tobias Weidmann (SVP) from Hettlingen ZH was able to move up.

Since 2016 she has been head of SVP Winterthur as district president as part of her party function.

Life and work

Schläpfer is involved in an SME in the Basel area , partner in the consulting firm Conmetec GmbH in Hagenbuch ZH and board member in a real estate company. She is married, has 3 children and lives in Hagenbuch ZH .
