Hans-Ulrich Bigler (born April 5, 1958 in Bern ; entitled to live in Worb ) is a Swiss association official and politician ( FDP ). He has been the director of the Swiss Trade Association since 2008 . From 2015 to 2019 he was a member of the National Council .

Life

Hans-Ulrich Bigler grew up in Bern. He studied economics (lic. Rer. Pol. At the University of Bern ) and completed a management training program at Harvard Business School . He has the military degree of Colonel in the General Staff a. D. inside.

Bigler was director of the business association of the Swiss printing industry Viscom for eleven years . In addition to developing a service center for the printing industry, he twice signed collective agreements with the media unions. He was then director of the Swiss machine industry employers' association, Swissmem , for two years . He is the founder of the Zurich career fair, which he helped set up on a voluntary basis between 2005 and 2008. Since July 1, 2008, Bigler has been director of the Swiss Trade Association.

In 2015 Bigler was elected to the National Council for the FDP Zurich and was a member of the Commission for Science, Education and Culture (WBK) and the Finance Commission (FK). He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Zukunft Finanzplatz as well as a member of the Economic Policy Commission of SECO and the EFTA Advisory Committee . In the House of Representatives election in 2019 he was not re-elected.

Bigler is a board member of the home owners association of the Canton of Zurich. He chairs the Board of Trustees of the Swiss SME Foundation and is President of the Swiss Institute for Entrepreneur Training (SIU) and President of the Board of Trustees of the Proparis Business Pension Foundation Switzerland. He also presides over the Swiss Commission for Real Estate Issues , the Swiss Nuclear Forum and is Vice-President of the Energy Agency for Business EnAW .

The father of two daughters and a son lives with his wife in Affoltern am Albis .

criticism

Bigler and the trade association were criticized for their campaign against the revision of the federal law on radio and television (RTVG): u. a. for style, false claims, and committee members falsely listed as opponents of the revision.
