Thomas Weibel (politician)
Thomas Weibel (born July 14, 1954 in Horgen ) is a Swiss politician ( Green Liberals ).
Life
He is a forest engineer ( ETH Zurich ) and lectures at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Life Sciences and Facility Management in Wädenswil .
From 1998 to 2005 Weibel was president of the Greens in Horgen and from 2002 to 2004 co-president of the Horgen district party. After the Green Liberals split off from the Green Party in the canton of Zurich , he has been President of the Green Liberal Party in the Horgen district since 2004. From 2002 to 2004 he was for the Greens in the Cantonal Council and since 2004 for the Green Liberals. In 2007 he was the parliamentary group leader of the Green Liberals in the Cantonal Council. Weibel has been a member of the National Council since the elections on October 21, 2007 . He was able to move up because Verena Diener was elected to the Council of States . In the elections held on 23 October 2011 he was re-elected.
