Chantal Galladé
Chantal Juliane Galladé (born December 17, 1972 in Winterthur ; resident in Isérables ) is a Swiss politician ( glp , previously SP ). From 2003 to 2018 she was an SP National Councilor .
biography
Galladé grew up in Winterthur. When she was eleven years old, her father killed himself with his army weapon. From 1989 to 1992 Galladé did a commercial apprenticeship , after which she attended a gymnastics vocational school. On the second chance she got on the Cantonal Maturitätsschule for adults 1993-1996 the maturity after. From 1997 to 2008 she studied education and political science . During her studies she worked as a vocational school teacher, among other things. She is an educational scientist.
She has a column on Radio 1 on Friday morning.
Galladé is the mother of two daughters (* 2004, * 2015). She was in a relationship with the SP National Councilor Daniel Jositsch for several years .
Galladé's brother Nicolas Galladé (* 1975) is also a politician. He has been a Winterthur city councilor since 2010 and is a member of the SP.
politics
She became politically active for the first time as a co-initiator of the youth parliament in Winterthur . In 1990 Galladé joined the Swiss Social Democratic Party and was elected to the Zurich Cantonal Council in 1997. In the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2003 , she was elected to the National Council. In the 2007 elections, she ran for both council chambers . In the Council of States election, she achieved the best result of all center / left candidates in the first ballot. On October 26, 2007, she withdrew her candidacy for the second ballot in favor of Verena Diener and thus remained a national councilor. She was re-elected in the October 23, 2011 elections and October 18, 2015 elections. After she was elected President of the Winterthur Stadt-Töss District School Administration for a term of four years in June 2018, she resigned as National Councilor on December 6, 2018.
In terms of content, her focus was on education and security policy . In 2007, she and Daniel Jositsch published a 12-point plan for solving youth violence and school problems.
In February 2019 she announced her move from the SP to the Green Liberal Party ; She criticized the changed European policy of the SP, in particular the rejection of the framework agreement with the European Union .
