Businessman (basic vocational training)

In Switzerland, a businessman is the basic vocational training with the highest number of participants. The basic training to become a businessman is colloquially referred to as "KV apprenticeship" or simply "KV", because the commercial association is responsible for it.

The regulation and thus the school education is the same for all 21 branches. In Germany and Austria, however, the sectors each have their own training occupation (see businessman (definition of terms) ).

Profiles

The training lasts three years. Two profiles are offered, depending on school skills:

  • Businesswoman / businessman - basic education
  • Businesswoman / businessman - advanced basic education

The number of vocational school hours has been the same in both profiles since the last reform. Accordingly, the profiles have a slightly different focus.

The vocational baccalaureate in commercial direction can only be acquired alongside the course in connection with the profile of the extended basic education.

The diploma is the federal certificate of proficiency .

procedure

After the first year of the apprenticeship there is a position assessment. After determining your position, you can change your training profile.

The basic vocational training ends with a qualification process , also known colloquially as the final apprenticeship examination.

The three learning locations are company, vocational school and inter-company courses .
