The Federal Certificate of Proficiency ( EFZ ; French Certificat fédéral de capacité (CFC) , Italian Attestato federale di capacità (AFC) , Romansh Attestat federal da qualificaziun (AFQ) ) is the professional ID for apprentices who have successfully completed a three or four year apprenticeship in Switzerland . In the past there were also two-year apprenticeships with a certificate of proficiency, for example saleswoman, office worker, service employee and so on.

final exam

In the qualification process, the skills and abilities of the apprentice are checked: Both the professional knowledge acquired in the company and the professional and general education of the vocational school must be achieved at least 50 percent.

The vocational baccalaureate can be achieved during the training .

In the future, the certificate of proficiency can also be acquired with corresponding practical components in the business school (full-time commercial training) and in the technical high school (full-time general training). Two-year basic training ends with a professional certificate .

The federal certificate of competence itself is issued by the cantonal authorities after passing the final apprenticeship examination .

The document is in DIN A5 format; the grade card is a separate document. This means that the actual certificate of proficiency can be used without a grade certificate. However, the grade certificate cannot be used without a certificate of proficiency.

Correspondence

Liechtenstein

The job titles in Liechtenstein correspond to those in Switzerland. Since 2008, the final certificates for three and four year apprenticeships have been referred to as certificates of proficiency (FZ) . They correspond to the Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ) in Switzerland. The two countries mutually recognize their professional qualifications. The apprenticeship as a materials technician (FZ) is only offered in Liechtenstein, but not in Switzerland .

Germany

In Germany, the federal certificate of proficiency corresponds to the journeyman's certificate , the skilled worker certificate or the IHK examination certificate .
