Skilled worker certificate

The skilled worker certificate is a certificate that confirms successful vocational training in some industries. It corresponds to the journeyman's certificate in handicrafts and the merchant's assistant certificate in commercial professions .

GDR qualification from 1959

Germany

The skilled worker certificate is obtained after passing the final exam before the IHK in a recognized training occupation in industry. The final letter provides information about the profession you have learned (job title) and the final examination you have passed.

The journeyman's letters in the trade and for the commercial sector the IHK examination certificate (formerly also known as a business assistant certificate) are equivalent to the skilled worker certificate .

In the GDR , those who passed their journeyman's examination were issued with a skilled worker certificate.
