Certificate of apprenticeship
The journeyman's certificate is a certificate that is given to the journeyman in the skilled trades after passing the journeyman 's examination . In other industries one speaks of a skilled worker certificate , in commercial professions of a business assistant certificate .
history
The journeyman's certificate comes from the historical guild craft training and is the letter of recognition that the master hands out to the apprentice as confirmation. It had an official character because the master was entitled to train and assess performance. This was followed by the ceremonial acquittal with the guild vow of loyalty .
Today in the German-speaking countries there is no longer any pure apprenticeship training , but rather dual training with school attendance. It is concluded with a journeyman's examination and a school leaving examination. After successful completion, the examinees receive the journeyman's certificate, the journeyman's examination certificate and the school leaving certificate as confirmation. On the day the journeyman's certificate is handed out, you are entitled to a journeyman's wage.
Germany
The skilled workers' certificates or test certificates issued as final certificates in various professions are equivalent to the journeyman's examination certificate . The journeyman's certificate is not to be confused with the legally required journeyman's examination certificate.
Since the amendment of the craft regulations , a master’s school can be attended after passing a journeyman's examination . A previous requirement of at least 3 years of professional experience as a journeyman is no longer necessary since January 1, 2004.
