Hans-Ueli Vogt (* December 5, 1969 as Hans-Ulrich Vogt in Winterthur ; legal resident in Wangen SZ ) is a Swiss legal scholar , full professor of private and commercial law and politician ( SVP ).

biography

Vogt grew up in Illnau in the Zurich Oberland and studied law at the University of Zurich . After several years as a lawyer and research assistant, he obtained an LL.M. Degree from New York University . In 2001 he did his doctorate under Peter Forstmoser with a dissertation on the subject of the public faith of the commercial register , which was awarded the Professor Walther Hug Prize . In 2003 he received an assistant professorship in Zurich, three years later he was appointed associate professor for commercial, commercial and intellectual property law, completed his habilitation in 2007 and has been a full professor of private and commercial law since 2013. He completed research stays at the European University Institute in Florence (as a Jean Monnet Fellow ), at Harvard Law School , at Tsinghua University in Beijing and at King's College in London . He was a consultant at the law firm Homburger from 2009 to 2013.

Vogt mainly publishes in the area of corporate law . He is co-editor of the journal for company and capital market law (GesKR) and editor of the njus.ch series . He is also the current editions of Legal work involved, one from Oftingers From tools of lawyers and of his writing incurred instructions for students.

Vogt is a member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP) and sits on the board of its section in Zurich City District 7 , which he also represents in the district school administration . In April 2011 he was elected to the canton council with the best result of the SVP in his constituency - despite position 5 on the list and the candidacy of both previous office holders . In autumn 2015 he ran for the Council of States and for the National Council. While he achieved a good result in the 1st ballot, but did not achieve the absolute majority, he was clearly defeated in the 2nd ballot. In contrast, he was elected to the National Council. He is a member of the Legal Commission of the National Council.
