Felix Uhlmann

Felix Uhlmann (born April 23, 1969 in Basel , resident in Huttwil , Canton Bern ) is a Swiss lawyer .

Uhlmann studied law at the University of Basel and received his doctorate there in 1996 under René Rhinow on the subject of “Profit-oriented state action” . He also obtained a minor in economics. After an LL. M. degree at Harvard Law School and his habilitation (on the subject of prohibition of arbitrariness ), he became an assistant professor at the University of Basel in 2004. In 2006 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Zurich , where he took over the chair for constitutional and administrative law as well as legal theory and head of the Center for Legal Studies from Georg Müller . He is a consultant at the Wenger Plattner law firm , where he previously worked as a lawyer for a number of years.

Uhlmann is a board member of the Basel Literature House and the Basler Juristenverein. He is also a member of the tax appeal committee of the canton of Basel-Stadt . At the beginning of 2010 he was elected to the Pro Helvetia Board of Trustees by the Federal Council; as 2nd Vice-President he is a member of the Executive Committee.

As a chess player , Uhlmann last had an Elo rating of 2177. Since 1995 he has been a member of the Association Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chess Federation .
