Ulrike Babusiaux

Ulrike Babusiaux (* 1973 in Salzkotten ) is a German legal scholar and professor of Roman law , private law and comparative law at the University of Zurich .

Babusiaux studied German and French law at the Saarland University . She received her first state examination in 1999 and the second state examination in 2001 . In 2005 she did her doctorate at the University of Saarland with Alfons Bürge . Her dissertation on the determination of the party will in the classical Roman civil process was awarded the Faculty Prize and the Medaglia d'argento of the Seventh Premio Boulvert.

In 2009 , Babusiaux completed his habilitation at Saarland University with a paper on Papinian's Questiones . In the same year she accepted a position at the University of Zurich, where she has held the chair for Roman law, private law and comparative law ever since. She has also been co-editor of the Savigny magazine since 2017 .
