Peter Forstmoser

Peter Forstmoser (born January 22, 1943 in Zurich ; legal domicile there ) is a Swiss legal scholar .

Life

Peter Forstmoser studied law at the University of Zurich from 1961 to 1969 and obtained his doctorate in 1970 . He then completed his habilitation with Arthur Meier-Hayoz , with whom he had already obtained his doctorate, and was admitted to the bar (1971). From 1971 to 1972 he studied at Harvard Law School and obtained an LL.M.

In 1974 Peter Forstmoser became associate professor at the University of Zurich and from 1978 until his retirement in 2008 full professor for private , commercial and capital market law at the University of Zurich. Peter Forstmoser is honorary professor at Beijing Normal University and is a permanent visiting professor at the University of Lucerne .

Forstmoser has been a partner at the commercial law firm Niederer Kraft & Frey AG since 1975 .

From 2000 to 2009, Forstmoser was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Reinsurance Company . He is or was a member of various boards of directors, u. a. by PSP Swiss Property , Mikron Holding and Hesta . Between September 2012 and March 2016 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Leonteq Securities AG .

Peter Forstmoser is married to Regina Ogorek . He lives in Horgen . In the Swiss Army he holds the rank of Major a. D.
