Simon Lukas Hässig (born July 29, 1964 ) is a Swiss business journalist , author and publisher of the finance website Inside Paradeplatz.

life and work

Hässig completed a commercial apprenticeship at the Swiss National Bank from 1980 to 1983 and the HWV from 1987 to 1990. From 1991 he worked for Radio 24 , Finanz und Wirtschaft , SonntagsZeitung , Facts , Bilanz and Die Weltwoche, among others , and as head of communications at Zurich Airport . Since 2006 he has been working as a freelance journalist and operator of the finance website Inside Paradeplatz.

The Tages-Anzeiger wrote in a portrait in 2013 that in earlier years Hässig was long considered a “ thesis journalist ” with a below-average hit rate in the media industry . In 2013, Hässig revealed that Novartis ' Chairman of the Board of Directors Daniel Vasella should be compensated for compliance with a non-competition clause at 12 million francs per year over six years, a total of 72 million francs . As a result of the great public outrage over this payment, Vasella and Novartis later waived it.

The Inside Paradeplatz finance portal, operated by Hässig and guest authors, mainly deals with internal issues from the Swiss financial sector and is therefore often read by its employees.

Hässig is married, has four children and lives in Zurich .
