German Business Book Prize
The German Business Book Prize is awarded annually by the Handelsblatt , Goldman Sachs and the Frankfurt Book Fair .
target
The German Business Book Prize has been awarded since 2007. The initiators were the Handelsblatt, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the strategy consultancy Booz . The latter was replaced by Goldmann Sachs in 2011. The motto of the award is "Understanding the economy". The German Business Book Prize is intended to underline the importance of business books in conveying economic relationships and to promote the understanding of business among the general public in an exemplary manner. The selection criteria therefore include not only innovative topics or a new perspective but also comprehensibility and legibility. The literature prize is endowed with € 10,000 in prize money.
Selection process
Publishers can apply for the German Business Book Prize with a maximum of three current, also announced, titles. Authors cannot apply. The editors of the Handelsblatt compile a shortlist of ten titles and review them. A jury made up of representatives from business and science, chaired by the Handelsblatt publisher, awards the prize. The award ceremony will take place during the Frankfurt Book Fair.
