Finews is an independent Swiss online news portal for the financial industry . The offer is aimed at all employees in banks and insurers , fund managers , asset managers , headhunters , lawyers, trustees , IT specialists, management consultants , communication specialists and representatives of authorities.

The company was founded in 2009 and has 12 employees (as of January 2017). Editor-in-chief is Peter Hody. At the beginning of 2018, he replaced Claude Baumann, the author of various books on financial topics. Per month recorded finews.ch 560,000 unique visits , with 1.25 million pages accessed are.

Finews provides information about the world of finance, reports on company news, reports on changes in staff or changes in the job market , provides analyzes, comments and opinions and follows the most important industry trends. Finews articles are regularly picked up or quoted by other media .

Since September 2015, articles have also been published in English on finews.com . In early 2016, the offering was expanded to include finews.asia and news in English for the financial industry in Asia.

Finews regularly conducts representative surveys of its readership and publishes a statistical survey on the development of the job market in the Swiss financial sector, the so-called Job Directory Index. Together with a jury of financial experts, Finews selects the Swiss financial word of the year at the end of each year.

On its own web TV channel, Finews offers interviews with personalities from the financial sector as well as analyzes and comments on current events and trends.
