Adriano B. Lucatelli (born February 23, 1966 in Uster ) is a Swiss entrepreneur in the financial sector .

Life

Adriano Lucatelli was born on February 23, 1966 in Uster near Zurich. The family on the father's side has its origins in Apulia in southern Italy and was mainly active in the agricultural and textile industries. The family on the mother's side comes from central Switzerland . His great-grandfather was the entrepreneur and electricity pioneer Zeno Durrer , his great -uncle Ludwig von Moos was a member of the Swiss government (the Federal Council ).

Education and professional experience

Lucatelli studied international relations and economics at the University of Nevada ( BA ) and at the London School of Economics ( MSc ). He received his doctorate from the University of Zurich on the subject of global financial market supervision . Part-time, Lucatelli completed an MBA from Rochester University ( New York, state) , an advanced management program from the Wharton School and an executive program from Singularity University in Silicon Valley.

Lucatelli has been active in the financial sector as a multiple company founder since 2009. He started his professional career in 1994 at Credit Suisse , where he held various management positions in Zurich and London . Between 2002 and 2009, Lucatelli was Managing Director and member of the Management Committee at UBS Switzerland in Lugano and Zurich.

From 2012 to 2018 he lectured at the University of Zurich on the political economy of the international financial markets.

Publications and Comments

During his career, Lucatelli has published various articles in newspapers, magazines and online magazines, and he is the author of the books "Finance and World Order" (1997), "Von Highflyern, Penalties und Bruchlandungen" (2012), "The Fine Art of Efficient" Investing ”(2015) and (with Lucienne C. Vaudan)“ A short journey through the financial markets ”(2018). He was also a regular interview guest at CNN Money Switzerland.

Research interest

Lucatelli's main research interest lies in determining the most important influencing factors for increasing company value. In this context, Lucatelli worked with Ernst Fehr for the first time to calculate the Market Adjusted Performance Indicator (MAPI) for listed Swiss companies and showed that good management systematically creates added value for shareholders, which is reflected in the fact that the shares of these companies sometimes achieve significantly better results have as the market average as measured by the broad Swiss Performance Index (SPI).

Appreciations

In 2011 he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada.

From 2017 to 2019, the Swiss business magazine “Bilanz” listed him among the top 100 most influential Swiss bankers.

External engagement

In his non-professional activities, he was President of the Readers' Council of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung from 2009 to 2019 and supports students at the University of Nevada financially through his two scholarships.

Lucatelli is an honorary member of the Pi Sigma Alpha , the American Society for Political Science, and a member of the Athenaeum Club in London. In 1993 he completed a six-month internship in the general secretariat of Amnesty International in Switzerland. He is also a keen aviator and flies helicopters himself.
