The District 7 is located in the eastern city district of the city of Zurich . It includes the districts of Fluntern , Hottingen and Hirslanden , which were incorporated into the city in 1893 , as well as the district of Witikon, which was incorporated in 1934 .
history
District 7 was created in 1913 as part of a revision of the city districts. The forerunner of District 7 was Stadtkreis V , which was formed on the occasion of the first incorporation in 1893 and consisted of the formerly independent communities of Fluntern, Hottingen, Hirslanden and Riesbach .
On the occasion of the revision of the city districts in 1913, city district III was divided into three parts and city district V was divided into two, and the resulting districts were renumbered. District V was renumbered to District 7 , while Riesbach was reallocated into its own, newly created District 8 and divided into three quarters on the drawing board by the Statistical Office of the City of Zurich .
The second incorporation in 1934 led to the creation of the new districts 9 to 11 as well as the reduction in size of district 6 and an enlargement of district 7. The latter was expanded to include the formerly independent municipality of Witikon.
