The circuit 6 is north of the old town , on the right side of the Limmat lying urban district of the city of Zurich . It includes the districts of Oberstrass and Unterstrass, which were incorporated into the city in 1893 .
history
District 6 was created in 1913 as part of a revision of the city districts. The forerunner of District 6 was Stadtkreis IV , which was formed on the occasion of the first incorporation in 1893 and consisted of the formerly independent communities Oberstrass, Unterstrass and Wipkingen .
On the occasion of the revision of the city districts in 1913, city district III was divided into three parts and city district V was divided into two, and the resulting districts were renumbered. District IV was renumbered to District 6 .
As part of the second incorporation in 1934, Wipkingen was reallocated to the newly created District 10 for logistical and statistical reasons, together with the new Höngg district - also a formerly independent municipality. Since then, only Oberstrass and Unterstrass together form District 6.
