Jörg Mäder

Jörg Mäder (born July 20, 1975 ) is a Swiss politician ( glp ), environmental scientist , software developer and teacher.

biography

Mäder studied environmental science at the ETH Zurich . He graduated with the title Eidg. Dipl. natw. ETH Zurich. After a year in between, he did his doctorate and also successfully completed this with the title of Dr. sc. ETH Zurich.

Today his everyday life is dominated by politics . He invests in politics more than three days a week. In addition to politics, he works as a freelance software developer and has a small stint as a math teacher at the Swiss Technical College in Winterthur .

Jörg Mäder is single.

Mäder comes from a family of politicians. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Green Liberal Party . In 2009 Mäder succeeded Hans Meier in the Zurich Cantonal Council . He was re-elected in 2011, 2015 and 2019. In 2010 Mäder was elected to the city ​​council of Opfikon and was re-elected in 2014 and 2018. Before that, he had been a member of the Opfiker municipal council for 12 years . On 24 March 2019 he was a candidate for the Zurich cantonal government . In the parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Mäder was elected to the National Council for the green liberals for the first time , after he had already stood as a candidate in the parliamentary elections in 2011 and 2015 .
