Zurich Chamber of Commerce

The Zurich Chamber of Commerce (ZHK) is a regional, cross-sector trade association . It represents the interests of around 1,100 affiliated companies in the cantons of Zurich , Zug and Schaffhausen . The Zurich Chamber of Commerce is an association in accordance with Art. 60 ff. Of the Swiss Civil Code .

purpose

The purpose is to promote the industry-wide economic policy interests of the catchment area. The ZHK advocates liberal and market-based framework conditions. Based on federal law and international agreements, the Zurich Chamber of Commerce certifies export documents and issues customs guarantees. In cooperation with the chambers of commerce in Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Neuchâtel, the ZHK offers international arbitration, the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution , which resolves disputes on the basis of the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration .

organization

The president is Karin Lenzlinger. Together with the director Regine Sauter, she represents the Chamber of Commerce externally. In addition to the president and two vice-presidents, the board consists of 31 members. 15 people are employed in the office (as of December 31, 2014).

history

At the instigation of the Zurich Stock Exchange Association, an independently organized Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1873. This was first called the Commercial Society and was renamed the Zurich Chamber of Commerce in 1919 . What the founders had in common was the desire for the best possible safeguarding of Swiss trade interests and the conclusion of advantageous customs and trade agreements to open up foreign export markets.

The office is at Löwenstrasse 11 in Zurich (5th floor).
