Patrick-Mikaël Lebeau (born March 17, 1970 in Saint-Jérôme , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player . His older brother Stéphan was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Lebeau was selected by the Canadiens de Montréal during the NHL Entry Draft in 1989 in the eighth round in a total of 167th place. His relatively petite stature is cited as the reason why the top scorer in European leagues could not prevail in the National Hockey League . In the 1995/96 season he won the düsseldorfer eg the German , in the game of 2000/01 with the ZSC Lions , the Swiss and in the 2003/04 season with the Frankfurt Lions turn the German ice hockey championship.
His contract with the Frankfurt Lions , which was actually valid until 2008, was terminated on August 7, 2007 at the request of Lebeau by mutual agreement, as he wanted to try his luck again in North America - possibly even in the NHL - and was invited to the Philadelphia Flyers training camp . His comeback in North America, however, failed because of the medical test.
For the 2008/09 season Lebeau was obliged by EV Duisburg , but his contract was dissolved shortly before the start of the season. According to the reasons given by those responsible in Duisburg, Lebeau had asked for a series to be put together according to his ideas, but had also criticized many players and their willingness and / or ability to perform. From 2008 he played for the Vienna Capitals in the Austrian ice hockey league . In the first year he was EBEL top scorer with 82 points, including 30 goals and 52 assists, in 52 games. In the summer of 2010, he left the club and signed in September 2010 with Saint-François de Sherbrooke in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
