Career

Derek Hahn started his career at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's gaming operations . After finishing college, the center moved to his home club, the Elmira Jackals from the UHL . In 2002 the Canadian signed a contract with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies from the East Coast Hockey League , which he left after only three games in the direction of Amarillo Gorillas from the CHL . Due to a lack of prospects in the North American minor leagues , Hahn moved to the Danish first division club Rødovre Mighty Bulls in 2006 .

Derek Hahn (2010)

In 2007 the right-shooter was signed by the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League . Hahn was in Frankfurt's squad for three seasons and moved to the Straubing Tigers after the Lions went bankrupt in summer 2010 . In Lower Bavaria, ups and downs alternated: Hahn was at the top of the league-wide top scorer list for several weeks, but injured himself several times and was unable to intervene in the game until the season finale. After a season the striker left Straubing again and moved to ERC Ingolstadt . With the ERCI he won the German championship title in 2014 and reached the 5000th successful face-off in January 2015 .

After four years in Ingolstadt, Hahn moved to Austria for the 2015/16 season and signed with HC Innsbruck . He had to leave the club after just a year. Then the Canadian ended his active career.
