Robert Hock (born January 12, 1973 in Šternberk , Czechoslovakia ) is a German - Czech ice hockey player who currently plays for the EC Hannover Indians in the Oberliga-Nord . The 24-time national player Hock holds the record in the German Ice Hockey League with 537 assists as the player with the most assists.
Career
Beginnings in the Bundesliga; Change to the DEL (1990-2006)
Robert Hock began his ice hockey career in 1990 at SC Riessersee in the 2nd League South. After the season in which the center had already scored 29 points in 53 games, the left-handed shooter was appointed to Germany's youth national team. He was also signed by the Bundesliga club Sportbund Rosenheim , where he scored nine goals in his rookie season.
After the Starbulls had retired to the 2nd Bundesliga, the German-Czech was signed by the Kölner Haien . After only one season, however, Hock returned to Rosenheim. From the 1995/96 season he finally played again for Riessersee in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), where he received only a short ice age due to the then less strict foreigner regulation. Then Hock moved back to the second highest division for the 1996/97 season , where he was on the ice for the Heilbronn EC for three years .
For the 1999/2000 season the attacker was brought back to the DEL by the Revierlöwen Oberhausen , before he ran again for the Kölner Haie in the 2001/2002 season. After a less than successful season in Cologne, Hock was able to build on his earlier achievements in Oberhausen with a total of 40 points after moving to Adler Mannheim in the 2003/04 season. After that, the center forward was under contract with the Hannover Scorpions for two years and increased his statistics by five points each time and finally became the second best German scorer in the league in the 2005/06 season after Daniel Kreutzer .
Promotion to top scorer in the DEL with the Iserlohn Roosters (2006-2013)
Somewhat surprisingly, Hock, who was said to have had several offers from more financially strong clubs due to his performance, joined the Iserlohn Roosters for the 2006/07 season , where he signed a two-year contract. There the offensive player was top scorer within the league in his first two years and led the team as captain on the ice from the 2007/08 season , whereupon his contract was extended for two more years in November 2007. After public criticism of his disregard for the national team, national coach Uwe Krupp nominated him for two international test matches against Finland in the run-up to the 2008 World Cup , which meant that Hock was about to make a comeback in the DEB team after a break of several years. Subsequently, however, in agreement with Krupp, the attacker was not nominated for the World Cup because the German-Czech's wife was expecting a child.
In the 2008/09 season Hock was able to defend the title of DEL top scorer from the previous season , but in contrast to the previous year missed the play-offs with the Roosters. On September 13, 2009 he was the first player to reach 600 points in the game against the Frankfurt Lions . In December 2009 he extended his contract together with Michael Wolf , with whom he formed one of the most successful attack series of the DEL for years.
“The Iserlohn Roosters have become my sporting home in the last four years. But it is even more important that my family and I feel comfortable and in good hands here. I couldn't ask for more. "
Stations in Heilbronn and Hanover (since 2013)
For the 2013/14 season , Hock returned to Heilbronn, where he succeeded Luigi Calce in the position of team captain , which he had previously held in Iserlohn between 2009 and 2013 for a total of four seasons. Following the season, the German-Czech initially expressed uncertainty about the continuation of his career due to an upcoming shoulder operation, before he finally joined the EC Hannover Indians in the Oberliga-Nord in January 2015 .
