Norman Milley (born February 14, 1980 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and today's ice hockey coach, who was last under contract as a player with the Düsseldorfer EG in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Norm Milley began his career with the Sudbury Wolves , for which he was on the ice from 1996 to 2000 for a total of four years in the Canadian Junior League OHL . During this time, the winger was selected in the second round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as the 47th player in total by the Buffalo Sabers . In the summer of 2000, Milley was added to the roster of Rochester Americans , the Sabers farm team from the American Hockey League . For the Americans, the right-shooter played mainly in the five years he was active in the Buffalo Sabers franchise , with his first and last seasons being used exclusively by the Americans. In total he came to 15 NHL missions for the Buffalo Sabers, in which he was able to achieve 3 scorer points (3 assists).

On August 18, 2005, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed the Canadian as a free agent . In his first season in Tampa, Milley was 14 times in the National Hockey League on the ice, scoring three points, including two goals. The rest of the season he ran for the Springfield Falcons , the Lightning's then AHL farm team.

After Milley in the 2007/08 season had only played for Tampa's new AHL farm team, the Norfolk Admirals , he signed a contract with the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg from the German Ice Hockey League before the 2008/09 season . The commitment to this DEL club was to continue for seven years and with 359 points (99 goals, 260 assists), Milley became the best-scoring player in the history of this club . The most successful season of Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg to date also falls during this time - in the 2010/11 season the club was the main round winner and reached the play-off final against the Eisbären Berlin . In the following season 2011/12 Norm Milley was with 58 points scorer (14 goals, 44 assists) the highest points player in the DEL main round . After a further extension of the contract in Wolfsburg was questionable at the end of the 2014/15 season, the striker moved to league rivals Düsseldorfer EG for two years . In the course of his departure, Milley's number 14 was blocked in Wolfsburg and no longer given.

Since DEG missed the play-offs, Milley ended his career after the last game of the main round in 2016/17 .
