Jeremy Williams (born January 26, 1984 in Glenavon , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player . He has been part of the Straubing Tigers' squad since June 2016 .
Career
Jeremy Williams began his career as a hockey player with the Swift Current Broncos , for which he was active in the Western Hockey League from 2001 to 2004 . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2003 in the seventh round as a total of 220th player from the Toronto Maple Leafs . Towards the end of the 2003/04 season, Williams made his professional ice hockey debut when he was first appointed to the squad of Toronto's then farm team , the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League . The 2004/05 season spent Williams in St. John, as the NHL season because of the lockout was canceled.
In the 2005/06 season Williams was in the AHL for Toronto's new farm team, the Toronto Marlies on the ice and made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Maple Leafs. In his first and only NHL appearance this season, he also scored his first goal in the NHL. In the following season, Williams mainly played for the Marlies and scored for the second time on his second NHL mission. In the 2007/08 season, the winger was allowed to play 18 times, so he was able to score two more goals. In July 2010 he moved to the New York Rangers , who used him mainly in the farm team at the Hartford Wolf Pack and Connecticut Whale during the 2010/11 season . In June 2011 he was signed by EC Red Bull Salzburg from the Austrian Ice Hockey League for the 2011/12 season.
For the subsequent season of Canadians signed a contract for one season plus option when HC Sierre in the Swiss National League B . After half a year at HC Sierre in the National League B, he moved to the German second division team ETC Crimmitschau . He then played for the Swedish second division club VIK Västerås HK from 2013 to 2016 and was the HockeyAllsvenskan top scorer in the 2013/14 season . In June 2016 he moved to the Straubing Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). During the 2017/18 season , he also played eight games on loan for Örebro HK from Svenska Hockeyligan .
