Stephan Daschner (* 5. August 1988 in Ingolstadt ) is a German ice hockey player , who since the season 2018/19 for the Straubing Tigers of the German ice hockey league on the position of the defense plays.

Career

Daschner began his career in the junior team of EV Landshut , where he was active with the junior team in the German junior league in the 2004/05 season . There the right-shooter was one of the defenders with the best points within the team , as he was able to score 15 points in the 34 games . A year later, the right-handed shooter was appointed to the professional squad for the first time, with which he played in the 2nd Bundesliga from then on . Initially, Daschner only came on one mission. During the 2006/07 season , those responsible for the Straubing Tigers became aware of the then 18-year-old and transferred him to the German Ice Hockey League . Daschner completed five DEL games in which he was able to book an assist . He was then given a sponsorship license and was therefore also eligible to play for his home club, EV Landshut.

After Daschner's contract with the Tigers was not renewed at the end of the 2007/08 season , he moved to his hometown for the 2008/09 season to ERC Ingolstadt , where he again received a production license and thus in the 2008/09 season both for the ERC Ingolstadt and went on the ice for EV Landshut. The right-shooter has played for the Hannover Scorpions since the 2011/2012 season before returning to his ice hockey home at EV Landshut in the 2013/14 season. For the 2014/15 season he returned to the top German league for the Düsseldorfer EG team. For the 2018/19 season Daschner moved to the Straubing Tigers, where he already played from 2006-2008.

International

In the summer of 2008, Stephan Daschner was nominated for the German junior national team , with which he took part in the World Cup of Division I in Bad Tölz in the same year . There he was able to celebrate promotion to the top division with the German team. In five games, the defender scored seven points and also had plus / minus statistics of +8.

He was used for the first time in the men's national team at the 2015 World Cup .

Inline hockey

Stephan Daschner took part in the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship 2012 with the German national inline hockey team and became vice world champion with the team. Reaching the finals was the national inline hockey team's greatest success to date.
