Chasen Nicholas "Chase" Balisy (born February 2, 1992 in Fullerton , California ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Straubing Tigers of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) since July 2019 and is in the position of striker plays.

Career

Balisy began his career in 2008 in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program . During his studies at Western Michigan University he played from 2010 to 2014 and was able to celebrate the CCHA championship with his team in 2012 . In the 2011 NHL Entry Draft , the striker was selected (drafted) in the sixth round in 170th position by the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL).

After completing his studies, the left-handed shooter started the 2014/15 season in the American Hockey League (AHL) at St. John's IceCaps . After a season in the jersey of the Canadian team, Balisy moved to the Portland Pirates for the 2015/16 season . After their relocation from Portland to Springfield, he remained loyal to the team and played in the jersey of the newly founded Springfield Thunderbirds in the following two game years between 2016 and 2018 , with his first NHL appearances for the cooperation partner in the 2017/18 season Florida Panthers , was allowed to graduate. The striker completed his last season in North America for the time being with the Belleville Senators .

In July 2019, the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) announced the commitment of the left-handed shooter. The Lower Bavarian team is the first station in Bali outside of the North American continent.

International

At the U18 Junior World Championship 2010 Balisy was able to win the gold medal with the American team. In seven tournaments he contributed three scorer points .
