Marcel Brandt (born May 8, 1992 in Dingolfing ) is a German ice hockey player who has been part of the Straubing Tigers' squad in the German Ice Hockey League since the 2018/19 season .
Career
Marcel Brandt began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of EV Regensburg , for which he was active in the youth Bundesliga from 2007 to 2009. In the 2008/09 season the attacker also made his debut in senior ice hockey for the club's first team in the fifth -rate Bavarian ice hockey league . For the 2009/10 season he moved to EV Landshut , for whose junior team he played in the German junior league. For the following 2010/11 season , the left shooter returned to Regensburg and has been on the ice for the senior team in the third-class ice hockey league ever since . In the 2012/13 season he also came with a sponsorship license for his first appearances in professional ice hockey for the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League . In the 2013/14 season , Brandt had a permanent contract with the Tigers and was given a license for ESV Kaufbeuren . At the end of the season, the Straubinger announced that the contract with Brandt had been extended for another season. For the 2015/16 season he was signed by the Düsseldorfer EG . On January 31, 2018 it was announced that the contract between Düsseldorfer EG and Brandt will be terminated and that he will be moving to the DEL2 league club EC Bad Nauheim with immediate effect for the remainder of the 2017/18 season. After the 2017/18 season in Bad Nauheim, Brandt switched back to the DEL to the Straubing Tigers, for which he already appeared in the 2013 to 2015 seasons. There he should complete both the 2018/19 season and the following 2019/20 season . Before the start of the following season, the contract was extended prematurely for another three years until 2023.
National team
In April 2016 Brandt celebrated his debut in the German national team as part of the Euro Hockey Challenge .
