The two best of the groups are qualified for the play-offs. The order for the play-offs is determined by
- Step 1:
- 1./2. 1st place group A; 1st place group B
- 3rd / 4th 2nd place group A; 2nd place group B
- Step 2:
- if both equally placed teams come from the same regional league group, the better final placement in the respective regional league will decide on the placement.
- if the two equally ranked teams come from different regional upper league groups, first the points achieved in the group decide on the placement, then the goal difference and then the number of goals scored; then the lot decides.
Oberliga Süd
The Oberliga Süd covers the area of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria and is played under the direction of the DEB.
Attendees
In addition to the previous eight Bavarian league clubs (minus champions and promoted Starbulls Rosenheim ), there are the two promoted players from the Bayernliga VER Selb and EV Regensburg and SC Riessersee from the 2nd Bundesliga, which no longer applied for a license for them.

The first eight clubs then play a play-off round (first against eighth, second against seventh and so on) from March 11th to 20th, the four winners of which qualify for the play-offs, while the teams in 9th place and 10 determine the athletic relegation in the "Best of Five" playdown mode.

Play-offs
Four teams from the group south and four teams from the intermediate round north took part in the play-offs. In the knockout system , a promoted player to the 2nd Bundesliga was played out. Quarter-finals and semi-finals are played in the best-of-five system, the final in the best-of-three system. The play-offs took place from March 27th to April 24th 2011 and were organized by the DEB.
If opponents from the northern finals and the Oberliga Süd are equally ranked, the team from the finals is considered to be "better" placed this season. In the coming season, the respective south team should be considered "better" placed. Deviating from this, the ESBG laid down new rules for placement in the implementation regulations.

(*) The 4th game of the play-off series on April 15th in Grafing was canceled when the score was 3: 3, because the ice surface was damaged during the ice preparation for the extra time that it was not possible to continue the game. Those responsible from Bad Tölz and Grafing agreed, after consultation with the league management, to continue the series in Bad Tölz and a possible last game in Grafing on April 19. However, since it was unclear whether the damage to the ice was caused by a technical defect (force majeure) or an error by the ice master (for which EHC Klostersee would have been responsible), the management of Tölzer Eissport GmbH subsequently protested against the repetition . This was rejected with reference to the agreement that had already been reached. After Bad Tölz had won the home game 3: 1, EHC Klostersee won the last game, which was actually the repetition of the fourth, 6: 3 and moved into the final.
final
The final was played in the best-of-three mode on April 21 and 23, 2011. The date for a possible play-off was April 25, 2011.
