The Oberliga season 1974/75 was the second season as the 3rd division. As in the previous season , the league was played in a group south and north. TSV Straubing won the championship and thus promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and prevailed against EV Regensburg in the final .

The VERC Lauterbach and the ERC Ludwigshafen had withdrawn into the Regionalliga Nord, the DEC Frillensee and the EC Holzkirchen into the Regionalliga Süd . The EC Soest had stopped playing. As a result, the sporting relegated Munich EV remained in the league. The regional league champion FASS Berlin was promoted to the league . The ERC Freiburg was regrouped from the North to South group.

The league was played as a double round in the south season with 12 participants and in the north season with 9 participants. Then the first four of both seasons played the two participants in the final in two groups. This determined the direct climber to the 2nd Bundesliga in two games.
