The ERC Ludwigshafen is an ice and roller sports club from Ludwigshafen am Rhein , whose men's ice hockey team sometimes took part in the third highest division in Germany. The exact name of the club is Eis- und Rollsport-Club Ludwigshafen .

Ice Hockey Department

After a participation in the Regionalliga was waived for the time being in 1972/73 , the senior team of the ERC rose after the 1972/73 season for the first time in the higher-class league operation and took part in the 1973/74 season in the - at that time third-class - league , which however was not kept sporty. After the team took part in the fourth-class regional league in 1974/75 , 1975/76 and 1976/77 , they were promoted to the league in 1977/78 . From this league, the team rose again to the Regionalliga 1978/79 . In the 1988/89 season , the team last participated in the regional league. Later, the team took part in the game operations in the Hessian Ice Sports Association until after the 2007/08 season the team moved from regular game operations to the - as a hobby - organized DPL league.

Inline hockey department

The Scorpions team took part in the Bundesliga organized by the IHL and DIHB from 2000 to 2005.

The ERC ice rink was built more than 40 years ago as an open artificial ice rink.
