The Gattberg is a 127 m high, flat, forest-covered elevation as part of the Osnabrück mountainous region in the Belmer district of Vehre, which is unique in the Osnabrück region with its wealth of ice age boulders . A 13 hectare area is designated as a nature reserve " Steinernes Meer ". Here there are huge boulders up to 3.80 m high. The largest is the “Butterstein”, a cube-shaped boulder with an edge length of around 3.40 m, but which only protrudes around 1.40 m from the ground.
A reddish-gray, roof-shaped granite boulder 1.65 m long, 1.20 m wide and 0.75 m high lies in the middle of the barrow field there .
