Sena Acolatse (born November 28, 1990 in Hayward , California ) is an American ice hockey player who has been playing for the Straubing Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League since the 2018/19 season .

Career

Acolatse began his career in 2006 with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In five years he first played three and a half years for Seattle before he was signed by the Saskatoon Blades in January 2010 . In early October 2010, the defender moved within the WHL to the Prince George Cougars .

On March 4, 2011, Acolatse signed a three-year entry level contract with the San Jose Sharks from the NHL , during the entire term of his contract for the farm team of the San Jose Sharks, the Worcester Sharks , in the American Hockey League (AHL ) stood on the ice. After the end of his contract, the native Californian played four more seasons in the AHL, in each of which he played a season for the Adirondack Flames , the Portland Pirates , the Springfield Thunderbirds and the Providence Bruins . However, the right-shooter did not make the jump from one of the farm teams to the NHL.

On May 4, 2018, Acolatse signed a contract with the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), which represents the defender's first stop outside of America. In April 2019, the extension of the contract for another season was announced.
