Stefan Loibl (born June 24, 1996 in Straubing ) is a German ice hockey player who has been part of the Straubing Tigers' squad in the German Ice Hockey League since the 2014/15 season .

Career

Loibl began playing ice hockey in Straubing , but switched to EV Landshut as a youth and went through the youth department there. In the 2013/14 season he was on the ice for the DEL2 team in Landshut for the first time . On May 7, 2014, he returned to his hometown club, the Straubing Tigers , where he received a one-year contract with the club-side option for a further three years. The striker made his first appearances in the DEL in the 2014/15 season and was also used in the DEL2 with cooperation partner ESV Kaufbeuren . In the two following years he also received a sponsorship license, in the 2015/16 season, in addition to his appearances in the DEL, Loibl played for Starbulls Rosenheim , and in the 2016/17 season for the Löwen Frankfurt , the respective cooperation partner Straubing.

International

In 2014 Stefan Loibl took part in the U18 World Cup, scoring two goals and two assists in six games. Two years later he played for the U20 juniors in Division I and scored one goal and made four assists.

At the end of October 2017, he was appointed to the German senior national team for the first time with a view to the Germany Cup 2017. On November 10, 2017, he made his international debut in a duel with Russia as part of the tournament.
