Antoine Laganière (born July 5, 1990 in L'Île-Cadieux , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Straubing Tigers of the German Ice Hockey League since June 2018 .

Career

Laganière began playing ice hockey in the club of the city of Châteauguay near his home. At the age of 17 he played for the first time in the United States for his school team there, the Deerfield Academy.

From 2009 the Canadian studied economics at Yale and was on the ice for the local ice hockey team, the Yale Bulldogs. In his senior year at the university, Laganière and his team won Yale University's first championship in the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

For the 2013/14 season , the young striker signed his first professional contract with the Norfolk Admirals from the American Hockey League . The French-Canadian played for the Anaheim Ducks farm team for a total of four years, moving to San Diego for the 2015/16 season due to a restructuring of the league together with the franchise .

His first stop in Europe was the Finnish club Porin Ässät from the Liiga in 2017 , whereby the left-handed shooter was signed by the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League after a season in Finland .
