Benedikt Kohl (born March 31, 1988 in Berchtesgaden ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Straubing Tigers of the German Ice Hockey League since April 2019 .
Career
Kohl began his training as an ice hockey player in 1993 at EV Berchtesgaden. About the Bayer selection process. Ice Sports Association he came to Füssen. There he was discovered for the DEL. The 1.80 m tall defender began his career with the young eagles Mannheim in the DNL . After good performances there, the right-handed shooter was already on the ice in his first season at the Mannheim ERC in the Baden-Württemberg League. Before the 2006/07 season, Kohl was finally included in the Adler squad and since then has played mainly in the Oberliga or 2nd Bundesliga with the Heilbronner Falken , the Mannheim farm team . For the 2008/09 season he was loaned to the Augsburg Panthers. From the 2009/10 season he was officially under contract with the Panthers. In March 2011 Kohl signed a contract until 2013 with Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , which was extended to 2014 at an early stage thanks to good performance. On May 8, 2014, he signed a contract with ERC Ingolstadt . After five years in Ingolstadt, Kohl moved to the Straubing Tigers in Lower Bavaria for the 2019/20 season .

- 2005 champion of the German youth league with the young eagles Mannheim
- 2006 champion of the German youth league with the young eagles Mannheim
- 2008 Promotion to the top division at the U20 World Cup in Division I, Group A.
International
For German junior national teams, Kohl took part in the U18 World Championship in 2006 , the U20 World Championship in 2007 and the U20 World Championship in Division I in 2008 .
At the Germany Cup in November 2010, he made his first appearance for the men's team of the German Ice Hockey Association and has so far played a total of 73 international A matches, including the 2013 , 2014 and 2015 World Championships and the Olympic qualification for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi .
