Oberliga Süd

The Regionalliga Süd-West ( Baden-Württembergliga 1999 to 2009 ) is the highest ice hockey league organized by the Baden-Württemberg Ice Sports Association . It is the fourth highest division in German ice hockey for clubs from Baden-Württemberg.

From 1970 to 1972 and 1980 to 1992, the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) organized a south-west group of the DEB Regional League. In addition to clubs from Baden-Württemberg, this also included clubs from Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. See history of the regional league .

The Regionalliga Süd-West was created in 1994 as part of a league reform in German ice hockey from the previous Baden-Württemberg league. After the superordinate 2nd League South was renamed Regionalliga Süd in 1999 , the league was renamed Baden-Württembergliga (BWL) again. After the dissolution of the Regionalliga Süd in 2002, the business administration was again on an equal footing with the regional leagues in the north, east and west. In 2009 it was renamed Regionalliga Süd-West again.
