Bayern League

The Bavarian Ice Hockey League is organized by the Bavarian Ice Sports Association . The teams from ECDC Memmingen and TEV Miesbach achieved promotion to the 2017/18 Oberliga through the newly introduced interlocking round . The two departures from the league were replaced by the Höchstadter EC, relegated from the Oberliga Süd and the EV Füssen, promoted from the Bavarian regional league . Since the relegation winner EC Bad Kissinger Wölfe did not receive a license to play for the 2017/18 Bayernliga season from the BEV, EA Schongau was able to remain in the Bayernliga despite being relegated .

The 14 teams play a main round (single round) and determine the champions of the Bayernliga 2017/18. The best eight teams qualify for a dovetailing round with the teams from 9th to 12th place in the Oberliga Süd ( EV Lindau , ECDC Memmingen , EHC Waldkraiburg , TEV Miesbach ). This is played in two groups (A and B) of six teams each (10 game days), whereby the first four qualify for the play-offs. The play-offs will be played in the quarter-finals with Best of Seven and from the semi-finals with Best of Three. The best 4 teams (semi-finalists) are qualified for the Oberliga 2018/19. The final winner is the BEV playoff champion .

The teams in ranks 9 to 14 of the Bayernliga main round are dovetailed with the best 10 teams in the Bavarian State League and play a qualifying round (single round) in two groups (C and D). The teams in places 1 to 3 of each group are qualified for the Bayernliga 2018/19. The best-placed national league teams in groups C + D determined the Bavarian national league champion in the "Best-of-Three" mode , in which the EC Bad Kissinger Wölfe won 2-1 against the EHC Klostersee .
