The team appeared for the first time in the higher-class league game operations in the 1996/97 season, when they were promoted from the Bayern League to the then third-class 2nd League South . When the 2nd Bundesliga was reintroduced as the second league level for the 1999/00 season, the team was downgraded from the third to the fourth division , from which they were relegated to the Bayernliga after the 1999/2000 season. The team has been participating in this league since then. In 2002 the team was nicknamed Icehogs . In the 2007/08 season, the ECP reached the runner-up behind the EHC Waldkraiburg team. With this placement, the club would have had the chance to move up to the top league in 2008/09 after the EHC Waldkraiburg waived promotion, whereas the club decided against it through the waiver made with the association in December 2007. In October 2019 the name was changed to EISHOGS.
In the 2012/13 season, in addition to the first senior team, the Icehogs , in the fourth-rate Bavarian ice hockey league and the junior teams , a second senior team will again play in the sixth-rate Bavarian regional league. In addition to these teams, there is also a women's team under the umbrella of the ECP , which first took part in league games in the Bavarian Ice Sports Association in 2011/12 and continued playing as SG with VfR Angerlohe for the 2012/13 season . In the 2013/14 season, no women's team took part in the game.
An average of 300 viewers come to the home games of EC Pfaffenhofen. The 2008 play-off home games attracted an average of 600 spectators. The final home game against EHC Waldkraiburg in front of over 1200 spectators should be mentioned. The fans of the ECP also maintain a friendship with the fans of the ERC Ingolstadt and the Starbulls Rosenheim.

Ice hockey department successes
Bavarian curling
The stick shooting department was dissolved at the beginning of 2008. Among the greatest successes was winning the German Championship (1998), the German Cup for AH teams (1999 and 2000) and winning the European Cup (1998).
Ice rink
The Pfaffenhofen ice stadium is a covered stadium that is open on three sides. The capacity is currently around 1,500 people. The ice rink was opened in 1974. At that time the stadium was not covered. Due to the high costs, the stadium was transferred to the city of Pfaffenhofen. The roof was completed in 1980. In 1997 the existing stadium building was extended. The stadium restaurant and the youth center "Atlantis" are located on the newly built floor. In 2007 the old wooden board was replaced by a state-of-the-art plastic board with safety glass. In addition, a grandstand with seats for approx. 200 people was built in-house. In August 2008 a new lighting system was installed.
