In the 2018/19 season , the regional leagues north, east, west and south-west as well as the Bayern league, which are equivalent to them, are the fourth-highest leagues in German ice hockey .

Regionalliga North

The Regionalliga Nord for teams from Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is managed by the State Ice Sports Association of Lower Saxony (NEV) for the so-called Northern Association , consisting of the regional associations of the federal states involved. The Regionalliga Nord plays a joint championship round with the Regionalliga Ost this season.

Mode and appointments

A double round will be played until February 10, 2019. The top four will then take part in the joint championship round with the Regionalliga Ost. There is no relegation. For the 2019/20 season, the league will be topped up by promoted players from the association league.

Attendees

Last year's champions Bremen renounced promotion to the league. The EHC Timmendorfer Strand 06 had reported for the regional league after its withdrawal from the Oberliga, but went into bankruptcy in August 2018. During the summer break, it was decided to increase the league to ten teams, but the potential successors in the regional league moved back, so that only the ECW Sande is new in the league.

Regional League East

The Regionalliga Ost is organized by the Saxon Ice Sports Association for clubs from Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. It is a reporting league.

mode

The preliminary round started on September 21, 2018 and ended on February 10, 2019. A one and a half-fold round is played with another regional duel, so that each team plays 22 games. The four first-placed qualify for the joint championship round with the Regionalliga Nord.

Attendees

Eight clubs take part in the Regionalliga Ost. The ESC Black Panther Jonsdorf and the ESC Berlin 2007 withdrew from the regional league. The ESV Halle 1b was champion of the Thuringia League in 2018 and thus new to the league.

Championship round north / east

The championship round will be held in two groups of four from February 15 to March 17, 2019. The two group winners play out the champions in best-of-three mode. The final winner is athletically qualified for the Oberliga Nord 2019/2020.

The Schönheider Wölfe are thus champions of the regional leagues north and east, but forego promotion to the Oberliga Nord. SV Bad Muskau withdrew its team after the season.

Regionalliga West

The Regionalliga West is organized by the North Rhine-Westphalia Ice Hockey Association (EHV-NRW) for clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.

Attendees

The Neusser EV secured relegation through relegation. The U25 team of the Löwen Frankfurt has been promoted from the Hessenliga. Master Herford renounced promotion to the league.

The ten teams play a main round with 36 games per team. The best eight teams qualify for the master playoffs. The last placed is athletic relegated to the respective fifth division.

The Herford EV wins its third championship in a row, but, as in previous years, renounces promotion to the league. The EC Lauterbach and the Soester EG will no longer compete in the Regionalliga West in the coming season. The Löwen Frankfurt 1b are relegated to the Hessenliga.

Regionalliga South-West

The Regionalliga Süd-West covers the area of ​​the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. The host is the Ice Sports Association of Baden-Württemberg . The EHC Zweibrücken from Rhineland-Palatinate traditionally also takes part in the league.

Attendees

The master SC Bietigheim 1b could not be promoted to the league as the second team of a DEL2 club. New in the league is the national league champion EHC Freiburg 1b. Since the league should be increased to ten teams again, there was no relegation. The Schwenninger ERC Fire Wings has withdrawn its regional league team due to insufficient staffing and will start in the Baden-Württemberg state league in 2018/19.

The team of SC Bietigheim-Bissingen 1b was able to defend its title and crown itself again as champions of the Regionalliga-Südwest. As a second representative, however, they are again not eligible for promotion. The EHC Freiburg 1b will no longer play in the Regionalliga Südwest in the coming season.

Bayern League

The Bavarian Ice Hockey League is organized by the Bavarian Ice Sports Association .

Attendees

TEV Miesbach is relegated from the league. The Höchstadter EC rose to the Oberliga Süd. Wanderers Germering , ESV Buchloe , EC Pfaffenhofen and EV Moosburg were relegated from the Bavarian League . With Bad Kissingen, Schweinfurt, Königsbrunn and Klostersee, four clubs rose from the state league .

mode

The 14 teams play a preliminary round with 26 games per team. The best eight teams qualify for a dovetailing round with the teams in positions 11 and 12 of the Oberliga Süd . This is played out as a single round - toothing round A. The first two will qualify for the 2019/20 Oberliga. The best four teams in the Bavarian League then play off the Bavarian champions in play-offs.

The teams in ranks 9 to 14 of the Bayernliga main round are interlocked with the best 10 teams in the Bavarian State League and play in two groups - interlocking round B and toothing round C for relegation and promotion. The teams in places 1 to 3 of each group are qualified for the Bayernliga 2019/20. As second in the table, EV Füssen is a sporty climber in the Oberliga Süd and at the same time participates in the master playoffs of the Regionalliga Bayern. The SC Riessersee is also a sporty climber, but as a participant from the upper league, not eligible for the master playoffs.
