The SV Rot-Weiß Bad Muskau is a sports club from Bad Muskau in the district of Görlitz , which is known for its ice hockey department .

history

The association was founded in August 1964 as a department of BSG Motor Bad Muskau. In January 1965, the natural ice stadium on the Bergisches See was inaugurated. However, due to the milder winter, the stadium could only be used for a few years. The association worked intensively with young people. Most of the players in the Cottbus district selection came from Bad Muskau. In 1970, apart from Berlin and Weißwasser, all ice hockey clubs in the GDR were forced to disband. A so-called best determination was held only once a year , in which Bad Muskau took part. However, the club was no longer allowed to pursue youth work. In 1971 he rose to the A group for the first time, but rose again in 1974. In 1975, however, BSG Motor Bad Muskau rose again. The club stayed in the A group until 1988. The greatest successes were three second places in 1976, 1977 and 1986. After German reunification in 1990, the club was renamed SV Rot-Weiß Bad Muskau. In 1990 the club became Sachsenmeister . Three more titles followed later.

The club has been playing in the Regionalliga Ost since 2011, and since 2013 as a syndicate with ELV Niesky as Bad Muskau Bombers .

Venue

The club plays its home games in the Weißwasser ice rink in Weißwasser, as there is no ice rink in Bad Muskau .
