The tennis and ice sports club Miesbach (short TEV Miesbach ) is a southern Bavarian club from Miesbach , in which, in addition to the sport of ice hockey , figure skating and curling are also practiced. The first ice hockey team is currently playing in the fourth-class Bayernliga .

history

The ice hockey club was founded in 1928 as one of the first in Bavaria. Before the war he played in the A-class, together with the SC Riessersee , the EV Füssen and the EC Bad Tölz . From the 1958/59 season , the TEV played almost continuously in the league . TEV Miesbach played in the 2nd Bundesliga from 1973/74 to 1976/77. From the 1977/78 season , the TEV Miesbach finally took part in the game operation of the major league. In the league division for the introduction of the DEL in 1994, the TEV was divided into the 1st League South , from which it was relegated in 1996. After that, the team stayed in the 2nd League South until 1998 , before playing in the Regional League South until the league was dissolved , but was finally able to rise again to the Oberliga.

In the 2007/08 season the TEV was a cooperation partner of EV Duisburg from the German Ice Hockey League .

In the 2009/10 season , the TEV will play in the fourth-class Bayernliga, after the 2008/09 league season ended only in ninth and last place in the southern group. In the 2009/2010 season, TEV Miesbach achieved the greatest success in its recent club history by winning the Bavarian championship. Thereupon the TEV declared that due to the upcoming repairs to the hall, the costs of which would be in the six-figure range, it would not exercise its right to promotion to the top division. In the course of the interlocking round of 2016/17 Oberliga / Bayernliga, TEV Miesbach was able to work its way up to the semi-finals and thus also received the promotion rights for the Oberliga 2017/18 .

Today the association has almost 1,000 members.

In addition to the seniors in the Bayernliga, the TEV youth teams are represented in all age groups. The youngest students compete against Germering, Holzkirchen, Munich and Klostersee. Youngsters and boys play in the respective performance class A. The school, youth and junior teams take part in the games of the respective Bavarian leagues.

Venue

The Miesbach ice rink emerged from the artificial ice rink that was newly built in 1960. The grandstand was built in 1964/65 and the roof structure was built in 1986. It has about 1,300 places and is one of the few ice rinks in all of Germany that still belongs to the club. In addition to ice hockey, the stadium is also used for curling and general ice skating.
