Florian Busch started his career at TEV Miesbach at the age of three. Early on he moved to the higher-class Starbulls Rosenheim , for whom he played in the DNL from 2000 to 2002 . After a brief stint with the young eagles from Mannheim , he switched to the Eisbären Berlin . In the 2002/03 season he still played mainly for EHC Klostersee , the polar bears' funding license partner. From the 2003/04 season he was used almost exclusively for the Berlin DEL team, with which he won the German championship in 2005 , 2006 and 2008 . In the 2007/08 season he scored the decisive goal in the extension of the fourth final game against the Kölner Haie . He then won the German championship with the Eisbären Berlin in 2009 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 , making him seven times German champion.
International
In the junior selection of the German Ice Hockey Federation , Busch was first used in 2003 at the U-18 World Championship . In the following two years he was part of the squad of the U-20 selection at the World Championships. In 2004 he succeeded in advancing with the team. In 2006 he made his debut in the senior national team and played for the team of Greg Poss and later Uwe Krupp at the Olympic Games in Turin and the Division I World Championship .
Refused doping test
In March 2008, after a game by the German national team, Busch refused a doping control by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) , which, according to the statutes, means a minimum ban of one year. Busch saw his mistake shortly afterwards and had himself checked a few hours later by the German Ice Hockey Federation DEB . No doping findings could be established. However, doping substances can be broken down in the body within a few hours, so the guidelines provide for a refused doping test to be classified as a doping case. The DEB sanctioned the behavior, which he incorporated as “stupidity of the player” and as a procedural error, with a fine of 5000 euros, 56 hours of community service and a public warning, which provoked a conflict between NADA and DEB by including NADA's contract with the DEB announced. The dispute had to be resolved before the CAS International Sports Court .
Since the IIHF granted approval, Florian Busch also played for the German national team during the 2008 Ice Hockey World Championship in Canada . The WADA did not consider the case against Bush a message from the IIHF to complete, but shares the view of the NADA that the punishment of the DEB is not sufficient, but the behavior Busch must draw a barrier to it. The DEL did not react, however, and so Busch was able to continue playing.
On May 7, 2008, the Federal Ministry of the Interior blocked the payment of the annual funding of 600,000 euros to the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) with immediate effect due to the DEB's disregard of the sanctions guidelines. In addition, it had already submitted a corresponding application to the responsible federal administration office on April 18 to reclaim tax funds.
In June 2009, Busch was banned for two years because of the refusal of the doping test by the International Court of Justice for Sports. In July 2009, Busch appealed against this decision to the highest Swiss instance, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court . Due to the complaint, the ban was suspended. On November 6, 2009, the appeal was granted. With the reasons for the judgment of December 18, 2009, Busch was finally acquitted. On February 23, 2011 it became known that the 26-year-old Busch had resigned from the national team. DEB sports director Reindl stated that Busch could not cope with the NADA registration rules and was concerned about another mistake.
