Parker Tuomie (born October 31, 1995 in Haßfurt ) is an American - German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) since June 2020 and plays there in the position of right winger . Tuomie has been a German national team player since April 2019 .
Career
Tuomie was born in Haßfurt after his father Tray came to Germany from the United States in the summer of 1991 and worked there for the ERC Haßfurt . In the junior division, Parker Tuomie played in the school league for the Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the 209/10 season ; in the following game year in the same division for the U16 offspring of the Düsseldorfer EG . He also made his debut this season in the U18 team, which took part in the game in the German Junior League (DNL). In the 2011/12 season , the winger was part of the DNL squad. For the 2012/13 season he switched to the Adler Mannheim team . In his second full DNL year he celebrated the championship title of the highest German junior league with the young eagles , in which he played a significant role as top scorer and player of the year.
After Tuomie was selected in the draft of the US junior leagues North American Hockey League (NAHL) and United States Hockey League (USHL) in the summer of 2013 , the attacker moved to his father's country of birth before the 2013/14 season. He first played a season with the Wenatchee Wild in the NAHL, where he was elected to the league's First All-Rookie Team. In the summer of 2014, the German-American agreed to Mankato at Minnesota State University to start his studies there in summer 2016. First, however, he spent two years in the USHL. There he ran for the Sioux Falls Stampede and won the Clark Cup , the USHL championship trophy , with the team in his rookie season . The second year Tuomie completed with the election to the Third All-Star Team of the league and then moved to Minnesota State University. In addition to his studies, he also played for the university team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Tuomie rose from his first year with 18 scorer points over 37 to 40. In spring 2019, the striker and the team won the Broadmoor Trophy as the WCHA champion . He was also appointed to the Division's Second All-Star Team. In the 2019/20 game year, the German-born striker scored 37 points, and Tuomie was again elected to the WCHA Second All-Star Team in his last year at university.
In June 2020, the offensive player returned to Germany after seven years, where he received a contract with Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
International
From 2012, Tuomie played with the junior national teams of the German Ice Hockey Federation at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2012 , the U18 Junior World Championship in 2013 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2014 and 2015 . He scored a total of six scorer points in 22 appearances in the international tournament .
The striker made his debut for the senior national team as part of the Euro Hockey Challenge 2019 in preparation for the 2019 World Cup .
