John Barclay Ramage (born February 7, 1991 in Mississauga , Ontario ) is an American - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League since May 2019 and plays for them in the position of defender .
Career
college
Between 2009 and 2013 Ramage played for the University of Wisconsin – Madison in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In his last three years he was the captain of his team. In the years 2008 to 2011 he also played for the U18 and U20 national teams of the United States . In the 2010 NHL Entry Draft , Ramage was selected in the fourth round in 103rd position by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League . However, he played for his college until the 2012/13 season. This season he was able to achieve eight goals and twelve assists in 42 games.
Professional area
In 2013 Ramage signed a two-year contract with the Calgary Flames. He started the season with the Abbotsford Heat , the Flames' farm team in the American Hockey League . But he was only able to record one assist in 50 games. During this season he was moved from the Flames to the Alaska Aces in the ECHL . In six season games and subsequent 20 playoff games, he was able to achieve five goals and thirteen assists. During this season he was able to win the Kelly Cup with the Aces . In the 2014/15 season he played for another partner club of the Calgary Flames in the AHL, the Adirondack Flames . In 53 games he was able to record three goals and twelve assists for himself. This season he was also able to celebrate his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames. However, there was only one NHL game for the Flames.
After that season he got no new contract from the Calgary Flames and became a free agent . On July 3, 2015, he signed a one-year contract with Columbus Blue Jackets . In the 2015/16 season Ramage played for the AHL partner of the Blue Jackets, the Lake Erie Monsters , which won the Calder Cup that season . Ramage contributed eight goals and 19 assists in 68 games to this success. He was also able to play again for a game of the Blue Jackets in the NHL. In the 2016/17 season, Ramage continued to play for the Lake Erie Monsters, who have since been renamed the Cleveland Monsters . In 69 games he recorded four goals and 21 assists. In 2018, he moved to the Arizona Coyotes in the middle of the 2017/18 season in January and ran for their AHL team, the Tucson Roadrunners . But only after a month got him the Nashville Predators for their AHL team, the Milwaukee Admirals . In total, he played in 66 AHL games this season and was able to achieve four goals and eleven assists. In July, Ramage moved again, this time to the New Jersey Devils . He ran again for their AHL team, the Binghamton Devils . He recorded 12 goals and 19 assists in 74 games. On May 9, 2019, it was announced that John Ramage was moving to Eisbären Berlin in the German Ice Hockey League .
