Lukas Reichel (born May 17, 2002 in Nuremberg ) is a German ice hockey player of Czech origin who has been under contract with the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) since June 2018 and has played there in the position of striker since September 2019 . Reichel, who is part of the talent pool for the NHL Entry Draft 2020 , also has a license to play for the Lausitzer Füchse from the DEL2 .
Career
Reichel, who was born in the Franconian city of Nuremberg while his father Martin played there for the Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), learned to play ice hockey in the junior area with the Frankfurt Lions and Starbulls Rosenheim . That was where his father's career path had taken him. The young striker played in Rosenheim until he was 16 and was active for the junior teams in the student league and German junior league (DNL) until the end of the 2017/18 season .
In the summer of 2018, the attacker finally moved to the German capital to the Eisbären Juniors Berlin , where he spent the season in the U20 team in the DNL. He collected 42 scorer points in 32 missions , making him the best scorer of his team. For the 2019/20 season , Reichel earned a regular place in the squad of the DEL parent club Eisbären Berlin , where the 17-year-old quickly became a regular player. In addition, he is equipped with a support license for the Lausitzer Füchse in the DEL2 for the season .
International
Reichel has been a member of the German junior national team since the U16 age group. His first major international tournament was the U18 World Junior Championship of Division IA 2019 in Grenoble, France . There he was promoted to the top division with the German team after four years. The striker contributed as many scorer points in five tournament games . There were three gates below.

family
Reichel comes from an ice hockey family that has its roots in today's Czech Republic . His father Martin and his older brother Robert were born in Most in what was then Czechoslovakia . While Martin Reichel spent most of his active career in Germany and played for the German national team from 1994 , Robert Reichel pursued a career in North America, where he played 900 games in the National Hockey League . As a long-time national player of the Czech national team , he was Olympic champion and three-time world champion.
Reichel's older brother Thomas Reichel is also a professional ice hockey player and began his career in the 2018/19 season with the Lausitzer Füchsen in the DEL2 . Her cousin Kristian Reichel , son of Roberts, has also been playing in the professional field with the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League since 2018 .
