Gerald Alexander "Gerry" Fleming junior (born October 16, 1967 in Montreal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current coach . During his active career between 1983 and 1998 he played eleven games for the Canadiens de Montréal in the National Hockey League . Mainly Fleming came but in the American Hockey League to missions, where he embodied the player type of the Enforcer . He has been working as a trainer since the end of his career and has been the assistant trainer of Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League since May 2018 .
Career
As a player
Fleming began his career in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec with the Junior de Verdun in 1983. Since 1991 he played in the American Hockey League for the Fredericton Canadiens . During his active career, he played eleven games for the Canadiens de Montréal in the National Hockey League .
As a trainer
Following his playing career, Gerry Fleming began his coaching career. From 1998 he was active as an assistant or head coach with various AHL and ECHL teams, the longest with the Florida Everblades (from 2001 to 2008). He began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Fredericton Canadiens for the 1998/99 season. Most recently he worked in the AHL at the Bakersfield Condors , where he also looked after Leon Draisaitl . In May 2018 Fleming signed a contract as an assistant trainer with the Eisbären Berlin .
