Tray Tuomie (* thirtieth April 1968 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is a former US-American - German hockey players , the coaching staff of since May 2016 Augsburger Panther in the German Ice Hockey League belongs. He has been the head coach there since May 2019. His son Parker is also a hockey player.
Career
Tuomie began his ice hockey career in 1989 at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and played two years in the NCAA . In 1991 he went to Europe to the ERC Haßfurt . He came to ETC Timmendorfer Strand in 1996 via ERV Schweinfurt and the Berlin Ice Skating Club , where he was involved in a goal 55 times in the 1996/97 season - 23 times as a goal scorer. After a season at ETC Crimmitschau and a season at EC Bad Nauheim , he came to REV Bremerhaven in 1999, where he was active for four years in the Oberliga and the 2nd Bundesliga . After two seasons at Moskitos Essen and ERV Schweinfurt, he took a two-year career break from 2005 to 2007 before joining the top division TEV Miesbach in 2007. After that season, Tuomie retired from his active career in 2008 at the age of 40.

In the 2009/10 season he was the coach of the Weser Stars in the regional league, but was on the ice himself as a player in the play-offs for four games. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season it was announced that Tuomie will be the new assistant coach at DEG Metro Stars . There he formed the coaching team together with Jeff Tomlinson . In his work as a coach, Tuomie focuses primarily on promoting young talent and integrating them into the first team. On May 30, 2012 Tuomie signed a 1-year contract as assistant coach with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers . In the following season he took over the position of head coach in Nuremberg. Due to a lack of consistency and several defeats in a row, Tray Tuomie was released from his coaching position on December 20, 2014.
In May 2016 he switched to the coaching staff of the DEL Club Augsburger Panther , where he became Mike Stewart's assistant . In May 2019, after Stewart's departure, he was promoted to head coach.
