Jamie Bartman (born November 11, 1962 in Medicine Hat , Alberta ) is a former German - Canadian ice hockey player and current coach .

Player career

The 1.81 m tall defender moved to German second division team EA Kempten in 1986 , and in the following season he went on the ice for EV Fürstenfeldbruck in the Bavarian regional league. Via EV Pfronten and EV Germering , the native Canadian came to ERV Schweinfurt for the 1991/92 season , for which he played for a total of three seasons, first in the upper and later in the regional league .

In 1994 Bartman moved to the Kassel Huskies in the newly founded German Ice Hockey League , where he only completed twelve missions, seven of them in the play-offs, in which the sled dogs were able to advance to the quarter-finals. For the 1995/96 season , the defender signed a contract with league competitor Ratinger Löwen , which he left after only one year in the direction of EHC Trier . After a season Jamie Bartman also moved to the second-rate first league playing REV Bremerhaven , where he ended his career in the 2000th

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, Bartman trained his former club REV Bremerhaven , with whom he became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey league in the 2001/02 season and finally resigned in January 2003. He then worked as the coach of the Heilbronner Falken and later as an assistant coach for the ERC Ingolstadt DEL club , where he was released on November 23, 2007. In the 2008/09 season , Jamie Bartman was assistant coach of the Frankfurt Lions . The following year he left Germany and became the head coach of HC Bozen . There he was released on January 1, 2010 and replaced by his predecessor Jari Helle . For the 2010/11 season an engagement at EC Dornbirn followed , in which he led the team to the runner-up. Since 2011 he has been under contract with EC Kassel Huskies . In April 2012, however, it was announced that Bartman and the people of Kassel had mutually agreed to terminate the contract that would actually run until after the 2012/13 season. From December 19, 2013 Bartmann was active as an assistant trainer for the DEL Club Iserlohn Roosters . After Rob Daum's dismissal in November 2018, Bartman took over the team management together with Christian Hommel.

Bartman has been Tray Tuomie's assistant trainer at the Augsburg Panthers since May 2019 .
